On December 14, 2020, at 1:00 pm local time in Chile, a total solar eclipse will cast a moon shadow across South Chile and Argentina for around 20 minutes. The path of totality in Chile goes over the city of Pucon in the Chilean Rivers district. We invite our guest to presence this spectacle from the top of the Lanin Volcano (3747m), surrounded by pristine nature, away from light pollution and crowds.
Our trip begins when we pick you up at Temuco airport and bring you to a 5* hotel in Pucon
The expedition includes the ascent of the most interesting and accessible active volcano in Chile, Volcan Villarrica ( 2847m / 9340ft ) and the observation of the Solar Eclipse in the Totality Zone while climbing Volcan Lanin.
For this particular dates, when lodging at the time of the Eclipse will be critical, ChileMontana has rented a small farm in Curarrehue, the property has cabins as well as camping facilities and will be used as base camp for the ascent of Volcan Lanin.
Our expedition program has been carefully planned to avoid crowds and roads with heavy traffic, so after the 2-day climb of Volcan Lanin and the Solar Eclipse, we bring you back to Temuco airport on the 16 of December, when the area will be back to normal again and crowds gone.
